An MLB Park Road Trip
My friend Alon on his road trip a few years ago. Hopefully the pictures with Jim Leyland and Rickey Henderson will be more interesting than my Warsaw story, at least.

I’m more intrigued by Amex than I am by foursquare here. If you see their latest commercials (and I somewhat cannot help to), you’ll see they’re making a pretty huge push to associate their cards with social networking, trying to shake the perception that their cards are only for affluent adults.
We already know LeBron wants to be a billionaire media magnate/athlete, but I think his choice to announce his free agency decision on national television takes things to a new level. Yes the proceeds will go to charity, and we don’t know who specifically solicited ESPN, but LeBJ ultimately chose to make his announcement on national television. I think this is weird. I’m going to call it “A-Rod” weird. It displays a strong focus and concern with how the general public views him that is completely separate from his goal of winning a championship. Thoughts?
As a Vikings fan, watching professional football was less stressful than usual yesterday. As I’m sure is being written about elsewhere (including here), there was the added bonus of watching the rest of the NFC North falter. On Mondays I like to catch up on the biggest games of the week I did not have the pleasure of watching, and the first two on my list for this Monday were the Packers and the Bears. Best bye week ever.
As an aside, I’m sure there’s also much talk about the woes of Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler. You have to feel for Rodgers and the terrible protection he gets week in and week out, having been sacked more times so far this year than all of last year. Cutler, on the other hand, just plain stinks. I was happy the Vikings didn’t get involved in the trade talks for him and I don’t know why the Bears did. GM’s just seem to go gaga for his arm strength, ignoring the fact he’s accomplished little else. Congratulations on the future of your franchise, Bears fans.
I bought my first app for my iPhone yesterday. It’s purpose is to help me track my expenses. It cost $4.99. It really sucked, so I bought a betterĀ one for $9.99.
